In recent years, in vitro and in vivo studies have shown that matrine has linear pharmacokinetics between 5 and 2000 ng / ml (Zhang X.L. et al., 2009) and has a wide range of pharmacological effects, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiparasitic, antiviral, anti fibrosis and sedative properties. These pharmacological effects have been used to treat hepatitis (Gong et al., 2015); Heart disease (Liu et al., 2017b); Skin diseases (Liu j.y.et al., 2007) and many cancers, such as hepatocellular carcinoma (Wang l.et al., 2013); Gastric cancer (Luo et al., 2007); Breast cancer (Zhou b.g.et al., 2017) and pancreatic cancer (Huang and Xin, 2017). Previous reviews reported the chemical composition and anticancer properties of MT (Huang and Xu, 2016). (28）
There is increasing evidence of the negative effects of antibiotic abuse, including induced immune decline and bacterial imbalance. Matrine has many beneficial effects such as anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial. Matrine significantly increased the proportion of beneficial bacteria, such as Clostridium ruminant 9, lactospiridae nk4a136 and unclassified ruminant bacteria. In conclusion, taking amoxicillin can change the composition and structure of microbial community by adding the ratio of pathogenic bacteria to beneficial bacteria, while matrine can add the number of beneficial bacteria. In addition, this study provides a theoretical basis for finding antibiotic substitutes to reduce bacterial drug resistance and intestinal flora imbalance. (29) the anti hepatitis B virus activity of the isolated Sophora alkaloids was evaluated. Compounds 1, 4, 5, 10 and 14 showed the same antiviral effect as matrine.（30）
Propolis is a natural resin mixture, which is made by bees from certain parts of plants, buds and secretions. Due to the wax and mechanical properties of propolis, bees use propolis to seal openings and cracks, smooth the inner wall, and act as a protective barrier against foreign invaders (such as snakes, lizards, etc.) or weathering threats such as wind and rain when building and repairing beehives. Bees collect propolis from different plants, mainly from poplar in temperate climate. The current antibacterial applications of propolis include the treatment of cold syndrome (upper respiratory tract infection, common cold and influenza like infection), wound healing, burns, acne, herpes simplex and genitalia, and neurodermatitis.
